Yeah... just... yeah...

Most of the new landmasses have no planned purpose, just there for the hell of it. Those that I've named are either to fit with an architectural theme (like Samaurkand is an oriental-based location) or just random words I thought sounded cool. :P

The compass on Gielinor has six cardinal directions (rather than four, like on Earth). This is due to the magical matrix woven into the planet (see the Stone of Jas). Of course, like a football, some of the regions would require five sides in order to become spherical... but ah well.

Their names are North, Lune, East, South, Hath and Vesp/West.

Until recent astrological advancements it was believed the world only had four cardinal directions - formally North, Eotres, South and Vesp - and many navigational tools and maps still sport a four-point compass. Most 6-point compasses are designed so that four-points can still be made-out (whilst people are still adjusting... imperial-metric ftw!).

Since the recognition that the planet has six cardinal directions, many magical connections have been made to the hexakis (the grid) - including the ability to predict weak points in the matrix (which are common sites for runecrafting rifts).

I tried coming up with a little rhyme like Never Eat Shredded Wheat... but I couldn't. It's mainly the V I get stuck on. :P

you should make a game about this and make it set in the future where the tectonic plates massbely shifted and have created some new areas, also astronomers in the observatory discovered more planets where your elves and stuff came from, while they still try to find where humans came from when guthix sent them to runescape (as if they will find earth)
