The world is made up of two sections; RuneScape and the Barrenlands.

The Barrenlands;
The entirety of the Barrenlands is raised a kilometre-or-so above sea level - like a giant shell covering half the world. In the left image, the large, darker continent is the Barrenlands. This is to show the coast - rather than drawing the whole thing.

The Barrenlands is a world almost devoid of magic magic - due to the think layer of rock between the surface and the matrix. And as such developed much more scientifically than the Lower World.

Whilst cracked in many places, the Barrenlands aren't as barren as it's name may suggest - that's just the name us humble Lower Worlders gave it. It is hydrated with many rivers and lakes that support a bounty of life and vegetation!

Changes;
• Landmasses have been rearranged (well obviously).
• The spelling mistakes I noticed have been fixed (no longer Burthrope, Al Karid and Tiranwwn, but Burthorpe, Al Kharid and Tirannwn).
• Some seas have been named, although could do with a bit more creativity.
• Acheron has been added to the map - I can't believe I forgot it!
• Mr Jeeves84's the Pirate King and Dragon78114's Azzai has been added to the map, with Morbius' Arzonus coming soon.
• Eotres and Vesp have been renamed East and West. Both are real words meaning the same, but I went for the modern ones.

Note: The South Sea is the whole of the area under the compass - the name isn't as centred as I would like.

Compass;
The six cardinal directions (points on the compass) are due to the magical matrix woven into the planet. This has astronomical influences, as well as underlying magical properties. The planet's first moon rising at Lune (lune meaning moon), and sets in the Hath. The sun rises at East (meaning dawn), and sets in the West (meaning dusk); the planet's late-second moon followed the opposite orbit until it fell from the sky. North means to the left of the rising sun, and South... well, it's meaning is forgotten.

Until recent astrological advancements it was believed the world only had four cardinal directions - formally North, East, South and West - and many navigational tools and maps still illustrate a four-point compass. Most compasses are adorned so that a four-point star can still be seen (like how imperial measurements are still used on real life). Since this, many magical connections have been made to the hexakis - including the ability to predict weak points in the matrix (the most common locations for runecrafting rifts).
